Guidelines for documents to be submitted for Italian citizenship

The offices responsible for acquiring documentation for obtaining Italian citizenship are generally the Police Headquarters and the Prefecture.

These offices require that the documentation certifying the status of the person making the application be authentic and legally valid in Italy.

This usually means producing these certificates:

  • birth certificate
  • criminal record

Let's see how these certificates should be presented, to simplify and optimize the process.
