Legalization

documents Italians

For an Italian document to be correctly received by a foreign country that is not a member of the 1961 Hague Convention, it is good practice and sometimes mandatory to legalize the original Italian document/certificate at the relevant Prefecture or Public Prosecutor's Office, depending on the nature of the document, and then at the Consulate of the destination country.

The Rome-based translation agency CAESAR, with thirty years of experience, is available to provide a free, no-obligation evaluation of the most appropriate translation process, after reviewing your original documents.

    The agency will handle these legalizations throughout the country without any problems and with always rapid processing times.

    Able to also handle the legalization of invoices, certificates of origin, health certificates, and export documents, the Roman agency invites you to ensure that:

    • Documents must be valid (expired documents cannot be legalized);
    • Notary documents must always have the joining stamps between the pages;
    • Certified copies must always indicate the number of pages making up the copy;
    • Chamber of Commerce certificates must always have the joining stamps between the pages;
    • Documents to be legalized must always be originals and with a handwritten signature deposited (at the Prefecture or Public Prosecutor's Office).
    • Some Prefectures DO NOT legalize multilingual certificates (issued according to the Vienna Convention); we recommend using only certificates issued only in Italian;
    • Some Prefectures require the wording "VALID FOR ABROAD" on the certificate; we recommend having this added.

Legalization

Documents foreign

The Rome translation agency offers a team of professionals ready to take care of your translation and legalization needs.

Committed to offering you a comprehensive service, the agency's staff will handle your foreign documents through the relevant Italian consulate, guaranteeing you an all-inclusive and extremely rapid service.

Legalization

VATICAN / HOLY SEE Documents

CAESAR is able to authenticate and stamp documents, certificates, and rulings of the Holy See, the Vatican, and the Vicariate.

Following the authentication, we can then legalize the documentation at any foreign consulate to the Holy See.

In this way, documents issued by the Vatican State (which, we recall, is not part of the Hague Convention and therefore does not require the Apostille) will have legal value in the foreign country of destination.
